County and State Departments to Present on Burtonsville Plans
Montgomery County's planning, transportation and housing and community affairs department will present along with the State Highway Administration.
Four local and state agencies will meet tonight to discuss Burtonsville's future. The community session will be held in the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
Presenters will include Kristin O'Connor, senior planning for Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), who is at work on a Neighborhood Plan for Burtonsville. The scope of work for that plan is due to the planning board in January and she will present a brief list of topics from that scope.
The Department of Housing and Community Affairs will also make speak on the Burtonsville Community Legacy Plan and streetface analysis and recommendations of the commercial area. The analysis was created by Baltimore-based architectural firm Hord| Coplan| Macht earlier this year, focusing on 11 parcels of land along Route 198 between the 15400 block and the 15500 block of Old Columbia Pike.
Both the Burtonsville Access Road and an alignment of Route 198 will also be discussed. See the agenda for the meeting.
