Calverton Community Sign Returns After Almost Two Years

The original sign from the citizens association was removed as part of a road project in 2010.

Residents driving through the Calverton neighborhood will notice a new addition: A brand-new sign from the Calverton Community Citizens Association. The sign, which is at the intersection of Fairland Road and Galway Drive, was re-installed after a nearly two year break from the neighborhood.

Dan Epps, president of the association, said the community had a sign near the intersection for years before it was removed in mid-2010 as part of a Fairland Road improvement project.

Epps told Patch that Montgomery County Department of Transportation agreed to replace the sign once the project was complete. The new sign was installed on Jan. 25.

The Calverton Community Citizens Association represents about 1400 homes in Montgomery and Prince George's County.
